The Sweep Trick - Evelyn Ng's Poker Chip Trick

The sweep trick is a cool looking poker chip trick that is extremely easy to learn and perform. Evelyn Ng was seen doing the trick during the 2004 World Series of Poker. Doing the trick in a flowing and graceful movement makes the trick very good to look at.

The sweep trick is very easy to do and you will need ten or more chips for the trick. The number of chips will depend on how many chips you can comfortably hold in your one hand. Array the chips on a straight flat line on the table in a manner that about half of each chip is lying on the chip previous to it.

If you are using your right hand for the trick, the top chip of the line should be on the right side. And when you are using your left hand, the top chip must be on the left side. For example, if you use your right hand, the line of chips must start from the left going to the right. The chip on the left will be lying flat on the table and the rest of the chips are up against that chip going to the right.

Hold your hand in a position where your fingers are bent like you are holding a bottle of cola. Put a single chip evenly on the side of your index finger and use your thumb to hold that chip firmly in place.

Start the sweeping motion at the end of the line that has the top chip. Run the single chip on your hand along the line of chips in a way that it will gently brush against each chip on the line. A clicking sound could be heard as you do this motion. When you reach the other end of the line, continue doing the motion until you pass the line of chips for an inch or two.

Then, while bringing your hand back from the other end, use the chip in your hand to make something like a digging action underneath the very first chip in the row. The other chips will be lying at an angle while only this one should be lying flat on the table surface. As you scoop up this chip it produces an effect on the other chips after it. The others will begin to stand up like a row of dominoes. As the chips stand, continue doing the sweeping motion along the line of chips on the table. The chips will then be collected in the palm of your hand. After scooping up the last chip on the line, continue moving your hand to finish up the sweep trick.

At first try, the trick may be clumsy and slow, but you will eventually get a hand of this very easy poker chip trick.
