The Finger Stretching Butterfly Poker Chip Trick
Of all the poker chip tricks that one can perform, the butterfly is among the difficult ones to master. The butterfly trick could be among the last ones that you can truly perform smoothly. If you have small hands, you may have the hardest time learning this trick because of the required finger stretching. Having sore fingers is common when you practice to learn the butterfly trick.
To begin the butterfly trick, you will need four poker chips. Hold the four chips in between the ring and index fingers in a perpendicular manner. The back of the chips must be supported by the middle finger. Your grip must be similar as when you do the thumb flip. From the fingertips, the chips should be comfortably situated at about half an inch to one inch.
Start doing the trick by loosening two of the chips that are near the palm using your thumb. As the two chips are lifted, roll them towards the index finger. Almost simultaneously, drop your ring finger and use that to pull the other two chips going to the opposite direction. Then move your pinky finger up to the index finger.
As your ring finger is pulling out, the pinky finger will become high enough to be in touch with the chips being held by the index and ring fingers. The middle and index fingers will be use to support the two chips as they move going into the position at the pinky and ring fingers.
See to it that you are making a very strong grip with each finger especially the pinky because it has the weakest grip of all the fingers. Having that firm grip on the chips, the index finger will be release leaving it holding the other two chips together with the thumb. The result would be that the pinky and ring fingers are holding two chips and the other two chips are in between the thumb and index finger.
Now, bend your middle finger forward going to the palm. Let it pass the chips, then move those two sets of chips together. The middle finger must be positioned in a way that both sets are in touch. Put pressure on the chips using your middle finger.
Pull the most top chip from the middle finger with your thumb. The most bottom chip must be pulled by the pinky finger. As the pinky and thumb are moving out with one chip each, let the middle finger move back from the palm with the last two chips rolling along on the ring and index fingers. This is the point that the four gaps of the hand in between the fingers contain a chip.
Just reverse the actions done to bring the four poker chips back from the start.
Learning how to do the butterfly chip trick would really take a longer time compared to the other poker chip tricks. Don't be discouraged if you are having a hard time. This trick can be mastered only through constant and persistent practice on your part.
